CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
At Rubis we want to play a meaningful role within our communities, especially within charity and environmental matters.
For over 30 years, Rubis Group has been committed to acting as a responsible player in each country where it operates, in compliance with the highest ethical standards and maximizing its positive impacts.
The Group has renewed this commitment in 2021 with, not only by joining the United Nations Global Compact, but also by publishing its first CSR roadmap for 2022-2025.
With this roadmap, Rubis is strengthening and piloting its CSR strategy built around three pillars broken down into nine commitments, in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
Pillar 1: reduce its environmental footprint
Pillar 2: provide a safe and stimulating environment for its employees
Pillar 3: contribute to a more virtuous society
As the Channel Islands’ most forward thinking fuel distributor, we understand a large amount of carbon emissions are produced from products such as heating oil and road fuel. Rather than just offsetting the impact of our products, we are delivering solutions by championing our Rubis Renewables sector within the business. This means we can offer greener alternatives to help islanders and businesses across the Channel Islands reduce their carbon footprint.
From renewable fuels and energy efficient technologies such as:
Renewable Diesel (RD100) launched in 2020
Renewable Heating Oil (EcoHeat100) launched in 2021
Solar PV 2022 (Rubis Solar) launched in 2022
We have been part of Jersey Eco-active since Thursday 30th June 2022, we have been showcasing our efforts to transition and become a greener business, helping deliver solutions to make our islands cleaner now.
£100 Heating Oil Vouchers
With the cost of living increasing significantly, a lot of islanders will struggle to heat their homes. Rubis Channel Islands is providing £20,000 worth of vouchers in both Jersey and Guernsey to help ease the pressure during the colder months.
Each winter fuel voucher is worth £100.
The vouchers were distributed by the Salvation Army in Jersey and the Guernsey Welfare Service.
Guernsey Trees for Life and Jersey Trees for Life
We also work with Guernsey and Jersey Trees for Life, helping to promote awareness of their work through our annual calendars, as well as having them as a Rubis card partner; so Rubis card holders can donate their points towards the charities.
