Supporting Channel Islands Frontline Healthcare Staff
Rubis Channel Islands is supporting frontline medical staff working in Jersey and Guernsey hospitals
****** UPDATE 03/04/20******
We would like to thank everyone who has taken time to send us emails, direct messages, Facebook post comments and to call us in response to our gesture of appreciation for frontline health care workers. We are simply not able to respond to everyone individually. There are some questions we have been able to group and provide an answer to below.
Yes, we agree, it is not just healthcare staff that deserve recognition, we would love to provide a ‘Thank You’ voucher to everyone who is keeping the Islands safe at this time, but this is simply not possible.
We are not sending out the vouchers ourselves but have worked with the amazing senior healthcare staff in Jersey and Guernsey, who will distribute them on our behalf.
We have produced a stock of vouchers which will be distributed to frontline healthcare workers, this includes those working in care homes, the ambulance service, community nurses, hospital staff and more. We’re sorry we cannot make this offer available to every single essential worker but we hope this will go some way to say ‘Thank You’.
The whole community is really stepping up and we should all be proud and grateful of what our family, friends, neighbours, businesses and colleagues are doing to help keep our Channel Islands moving.
We are in the midst of a crisis, causing a disruption to our daily lives that many of us will have never experienced before.
The reaction from the public and local businesses, who we are lucky to count as our customers and suppliers, has been simply amazing. We are reminded that businesses are made up of people trying to do the best for the community we live and work. We have been heartened to see our staff go the extra mile to help our customers, and take the initiative to support islanders in need.
We believe that we all can make a positive impact and we will emerge from this crisis, a stronger and more resilient community.
We want to show our appreciation to those providing frontline medical services, by offering fuel vouchers, for use at all Rubis forecourts. Hopefully this small gesture will show our appreciation to those who are going that extra mile to provide critical support in the communities where we live and work.
The vouchers are being printed as we speak and then will be passed on to Jersey & Guernsey Hospital.
