Commemorate, Celebrate and Inspire – Guernsey Air Display 2018
The emphasis of this year's Guernsey Air Display is the RAF centenary and, where possible, aircraft with a direct connection with, or a history of being part of, the RAF will be displaying in the skies above St Peter Port.
Guernsey has enjoyed an annual air display for over four decades and this year’s display will take place on Thursday 13th September.
COMMEMORATE – RAF’s achievements and all those who have served
CELEBRATE – the RAF of today
INSPIRE – RAF Family and the wider public about the RAF’s future
One hundred years ago, King George V authorised the creation of a new branch of the British military. It was formed in response to the growing role of airpower in warfare, and created by merging the aviation branches of the Royal Navy and British Army together into a single service, the Royal Air Force. Very little on the island of Gurney can rival the variety, spectacle and energy of the International Air Display. The Airshow has established itself over the years as one of the islands premier calendar dates.
We are delighted to once again sponsor the Guernsey Air Display and in particular The RAF’s rich history of achievements. We hope you will join us as all eyes take to the skies marking the centenary of the Royal Air Force; its achievements over 100 years and honouring all those who have served and who continue to serve in conflicts around the world.
