Guernsey’s West Show – hailed as another success!
The West Show is located on the picturesque West Coast of Guernsey at L’Eree, a large open area which was a former aerodrome.
Wednesday’s glorious weather encouraged vast crowds to come along and enjoy the full programme of entertainment both in the arena and around the showground. All the trade stands like ours, were very busy; it was a great opportunity to meet with customers old and new and enjoy all that the show had to offer. The show prides itself on having retained the Guernsey traditions and featured large displays of exhibits by Guernsey residents in the Country Show classes such as cakes, vegetables, flowers, fruit, arts and crafts, photography and plants together with animal and livestock classes, such as cattle, goats, sheep, pigs and fur and feather. Add to this a funfair, a pet tent, craft activities for little ones, face painting, tractors, military vehicles, lawnmower racing and much more, and it was the perfect family day out for all ages. On Thursday the weather was not so kind to us as it started very wet but the forecast promised clear blue skies by the afternoon and it delivered just that, the sun came out and the crowds came back out in their thousands.
We are proud to play our part in supporting Guernsey’s premier agricultural and horticultural show and would like to thank the organising Committee for once again putting on a superb event that was enjoyed by all. With the hard work and dedication of the Committee and a loyal band of volunteer helpers, the West Show continues to thrive and entertain the crowds each year and we hope will do so for many years to come!
